The Prophet Muhammad (may God bless him and grant him peace) said, When a person dies, his works end, except for three: self-generating charity (sadaqa jariya), knowledge that is benefited from, and a righteous child who prays for him.
The work of the Islamic Texts Society is dedicated to propagating knowledge about Islam and, as a not-for-profit organisation, all donations to it are sadaqa jariya. The Islamic Texts Society is dependent on the financial support of its readers and of all those who share its educational vision. We are most grateful to all the generous and dedicated individuals and institutions who have supported us in the past and who continue to support us today. It is directly due to these donations that we have been able to publish in English essential works from the heritage of Islam including the Ghazali Series. We appreciate donations of all sizes, and there are many different ways in which you can give. If you are a UK taxpayer, we can also claim an additional percentage of your donation from the government through Gift Aid. Please see below the different ways that you can help us, jazakum Allah khayr.

With Payroll Giving you can give more to the Islamic Texts Society while paying less. If you are an employee and pay tax through Pay As You Earn (PAYE), you can donate to us through the Payroll Giving Scheme. With this Scheme, you authorise your company to send a donation to us from your income before tax is deducted. This means that you only pay tax on what is left, and your donation goes further for the Islamic Texts Society.
For example, if you are a basic rate taxpayer and you make a donation of £10 through the Payroll Giving Scheme, as you pay tax at 20%, the Islamic Texts Society will receive £10 although it will only cost you £8. If you are a higher rate taxpayer and make a donation of £10, as you pay tax at 40%, the Islamic Texts Society will receive £10 but it will only cost you £6.
Payroll Giving is one of the easiest and most efficient ways of giving for both the donor and us. To find out more details about Payroll Giving please click here.
Donate by tax return
If you complete a Self Assessment Tax Return, you are able to donate some or all of your tax refund to the Islamic Texts Society. In addition, if you tick the Gift Aid box on your tax return, the government will treat this donation as a Gift Aid donation. So, for every £10 you give, we receive £12.50. Please see our Gift Aid page to see if you qualify to Gift Aid your donations. To donate your tax refund to the Islamic Texts Society please include on your Self Assessment Tax Return form our unique SA Donate reference code which is: KAU64UG.
If you are a higher rate taxpayer and have made Gift Aided donations during the past tax year you are able to claim back the difference between the basic rate of tax on your donation that the Islamic Texts Society has been able to receive through the Gift Aid Scheme and the higher rate of tax that you have paid on the amount. You can also send this difference to the Islamic Texts Society by choosing us on your Self Assessment Tax Return form to receive your tax refund. Please remember to include our SA Donate reference code which is: KAU64UG.
